SuSy internship Dorottya Mátravögyi at WSF Budapest
Mátravölgyi Dorottya was selected for the SuSy support system internship programme at Workshop Foundation. Dorottya came with a background in performing arts, she has been working several years with the Budapest-based Independent Theatre organisation. As such, Dorottya was very much familiar with the sector-specific know-how, notably with application writing, art project management and cultural communication; she quickly integrated into WSF team. However, Dorottya worked mainly with theatre and not specifically with contemporary dance, as such thanks to the internship she gained in-depth knowledge about contemporary dance and the Hungarian scene.
The main duties of Dorottya was project management tasks in LLB project, such as administration, financial management and report writing. She also helped during art residencies, welcoming the artists and guiding them in Budapest. Dorottya also took part in organisational tasks of Choreographic Convention.
Dorottya regulary put together a monthly dance guide, containing recommendations of currently running dance productions in Budapest. What is more, she participated in a Perform Europe project, which gave her new knowledge about international collaboration.
Finally, Dorottya also dealt with day-to-day tasks concerning the general operation of WSF office and studios. She took care of timetable management, invoice administration and emailing with teachers.
All in all, Dorottya’s work during the internship provided great added value to the functioning of WSF. Dorottya still works at WSF as a cultural manager now, progressing from the role of trainee to manager.
