PSR Without Distance Platform 2020

Without Distance Platform for Dance Practices and Theories is an annual educational and discursive programme that takes place in the frame of Antistatic Festival for Contemporary Dance and Performance in Sofia.

The Performance Situation Room "Without Distance Platform" 2020 took place in the frame of Antistatic Festival 2020 and had to be reduced due to Covid-19 travel restrictions.
It included a workshop by Ivo Dimchev, 5 performances and post-show talks with the artists participating in the festival programme of “Antistatic”.


Do Yourself a Favor
A solo workshop, led by Ivo Dimchev


The goal of “Do Yourself a Favor” solo workshop is to explore how to construct performative structures with original self-created material.

The paths to reach this goal will pass through topics such as:
– writing dramaturgical text;
– developing choreography;
– exploration of objects.

Ivo Dimchev is a choreographer, visual artist, singer and songwriter whose work is an extreme and colourful mixture of performance art, dance, theatre, music, drawings and photography. Dimchev is author of more than 30 performances. He has received numerous international awards for dance and theater and has presented his work all over Europe, Asia, South and North America. Besides his artistic work he gives master classes in the National Theater Academy, Budapest; the Royal Dance Conservatorium of Belgium, Antwerp; Hochschule der Künste, Bern; DanceWeb in Vienna, etc. He is author of the book “Stage works 2002-2016” (2016), presenting images and dramaturgical texts from more than 30 stage works and “Lyrics and Pederatuses” (2017) with 150 poems and short stories. In 2017 Ivo Dimchev released 2 music albums with his own music “Songs from my shows – Live” and “SCULPTURES”. Since then he has been touring the world with his music and concerts.
