SuSy internship Kamilla Péter at Workshop Foundation

Kamilla Péter after graduating Kingston University London and getting a BA in Dance she started her internship at WSF. Kamilla is interesting and helpful for WSF because of her studies in London, her interest and experiences in urban dance styles and her connections to a younger generation.

With Kamilla we try another working method, she is not in the office everyday, she is spending dedicated days on organizing programs and welcoming guest artist and also she is working on our social media channels.

In her first 4 months Kamilla was involved in three artist-in-residence program:

-       Snjezana Premus technical residency (LLB – Creative Crossroads): Kamilla was the host for the artists, she helped them in the organization and also in the communication between the Theater – Artus Studio. Kamilla was responsible for the promotion of the work-in-progress presentation at the residency,

-       Bilateral exchange – Philadelphia – Budapest: Kamilla welcomed the artists, Annie Wilson (US) and Paige Phillips (US) who spent 3 weeks in Budapest,

-       preparation of research and teaching experience – residency of Ofelia Jarl Ortega

With Kamilla WSF agreed on to extend her internship with an additional 6 months. In the following months Kamilla was busy with the following activities:

Kamilla Péter has been involved in the following LLB programs in the period of the report:

- Besides Gergely Talló, the director of WSF, Kamilla has been responsible for welcoming Ofelia Jarl Ortega during her teaching and research experience as part of the Creative Crossroads program and for ensuring that everything goes well during the residency. She has arranged the social media promotion of the public presentation called Sharing Research, the closing event of the residency, and took part in the administrative tasks related to the residency.

- She has been handling the preparation of the residency of Anne Lise le Gac, Creative Crossroads Cycle 1 artist, at WSF which was supposed to take place between 31/03/2020-09/04/2020 but had to be postponed due to COVID-19.

- Kamilla also took part in the arrangement of a Dance Hubs technical residency at STUK Leuven. She helped coordinate the open call and selection process and communicated with the artists. The residency of Vakulya Zoltán and Chen-Wei Lee needed to be postponed as well, as it was supposed to take place between 07/04/2020-17/04/2020.

As Workshop Foundation has decided to close its studios and office due to the COVID-19 restrictions, Kamilla, amongst the other team members, continues working in home office since the middle of March 2020 until WSF can open its gates again. She handles tasks such as research and sharing of online content on our platforms, research for new financial resources, preparation of studio statistics, grant application writing and reporting, participation in the planification of our autumn programmes.

From April, 2020 Kamilla was working a lot on replanning the schedules of the studios and the different activities connected to the foundation. Because of the restrictions she mostly worked from home office. In the difficult times of the spring closure she played an active role replanning the programs of WSF.
