PSR Without Distance Platform 2019
Without Distance Platform for Dance Practices and Theories is an annual educational and discursive programme that takes place in the frame of Antistatic Festival for Contemporary Dance and Performance in Sofia. Its 9thedition this year was produced by Brain Store Project (Sofia) within Performance Situation Room programme line of Life Long Burning project. It was co-funded by Culture Programme of Sofia Municipality.
The Programme took place between 9 – 21 May and it included dance criticism seminar, artist talks, dance and performance workshops and warm ups for the audience before dance productions in the festival programme. The seminar and the workshops were open to Bulgarian and international dance professionals and the programme provided scholarships for 9 international participants, covering their accommodation expensesand participation fee. The programme took place in different culture and performing arts venues in Sofia. Its public events reached around 250 audience members and the workshops involved 63 participants out of which 9dancecritics and artists from Belgium, France, Italy, Kosovo, Macedonia and Serbia. The programme involved 4 international mentors: Arnd Wesemann (dance critic, “tanz” Magazine, Germany), Manuel Pelmus (dance and performance artist, Romania/Sweden), Milan Herich (dancer and teacher, Slovakia/ Belgium) and Alexandra Janeva-Imfeld (dance maker and teacher, Croatia/ Belgium). The selection of the participants was made on basis of their artistic biography and a letter of motivation.

Writing about Dance in the Media
International seminar with Arnd Wesemann, editor in “tanz” Magazine (GER). The workshop was designed for professional dance and theatre critics and cultural journalists. 12 Bulgarian and 3 international cultural journalists, bloggers and performing arts critics took part in it.
*Arnd Wesemann became after his theatre studies, in 1997, an editor of the German-speaking dance magazine “tanz”, published in Berlin. He has published a number of books on politics and aesthetics, including “Immer Feste Tanzen” (“The Dancing Feast”, 2006), a German-language collection of essays on the history of dance and dance as an antidote to work.

A movement research practice developed by Aleksandra Janeva Imfeld
An open class with Aleksandra Janeva Imfeld (BE/ CRO) for students, dance and theatre professionals.
*Aleksandra Janeva Imfeldwas born in Macedonia. She graduated from the School for contemporary dance Ana Maletic in Zagreb and studied dance in Bruges and Lier in Belgium. In 1998 she was a DanceWEB scholarship student in Vienna and in New York she was a scholarship student in The Jennifer Muller Company. 2012 she completed the postgraduate program a.pass (Advanced Performance and Scenography Study) in Brussels in which she developed a method of work ”the connector” for collective authorship and is using it within all of her works. Aleksandra is a close associate of BADco from Zagreb. She worked with Ismael Ivo, The System Castafiore, Brice Leroux, David Hernandez and many others. She is one of the co-founders of Nomad Dance Academy and Nomad Dance Academy Croatia. She is a guest teacher at SNDO – Amsterdam and Dance Academy in Zagreb.

Liveness/Perfomativity/Movement In Dance And Exhibition Context
A workshop with Manuel Pelmus (RO/ SE)
The workshop addressed, both practically and theoretically, the current international debate on how the recent “performance turn” of dance and choreography in the arts. It was designed for professionals in the field of dance, choreography and performance.
*Manuel Pelmuş is a choreographer and artist who lives and works between Oslo and Bucharest. His work has been presented in numerous gallery and museum exhibitions. He has recently had a solo exhibition at Para Site, Hong Kong (2018), and his projects have been shown at Tate Modern Museum, Museum Ludwig Köln, Cologne (2016); Off-Biennale Budapest (2015 and 2017); Centre Pompidou, Paris (2014); Museum of Modern Art, Warsaw (2014) and the Romanian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale (2013), amongst others. In 2012, he was awarded the Berlin Art Prize for performance arts and the prize for excellence from the National Dance Center of Bucharest in 2014.

Down by Spiral
A workshop with Milan Herich (Slovakia/ Belgium)
A physical workshop with Milan Herich, assistant of David Zambrano, on the flying lowtechnique. The workshop was designed for professional dancers.
*Born in Slovakia, Milan graduated at the Banska Bystrica Dance Conservatory. Later in 2002, he continued his dance training at the renowned school P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels under the direction of Anna Teresa de Keersmaeker. He worked with different choreographers and companies like Ultima Vez / Wim Vandekeybus and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. Over 19 years already, he has been in continuous collaboration with David Zambrano as an assistant in classes and workshops and as an interpreter in some of his works. Milan created together with David Zambrano "A Solo for Mr.Folk" which they present successfully in Europe and Latin America.
Milan Herich is co-founder of “Les SlovaKs” Dance Collective for which he creates works. Since 2013, he has also collaborated with the choreographer Anton Lachky and for many years he has been coaching and choreographing in works of renowned circus company “Rasposo”. In 2018, Milan directed and choreographed a full evening performance together with Petr Forman “Turn over a New Leaf” for the circus school ESAC in Brussels.
The project was made popular by a special booklet in the format of a newspaper, on the website of Antistatic Festival www.antistaticfestival.org, on the social media, press publications and open call publications in specialized websites such as dancingopportunities.com, dramaturgynew.net a.o.
