Nicolas Fayol residency and coproduction – Faire fleurir

FAIRE FLEURIR brings one dancer, two musicians, a bunch of stones and a rich milieu of lights and shadows, together under a veil that defines the limits of a strikingly strained space - the cloth operating as a very low ceiling. Seated all around this wall-less cave, the audience witnesses a forced inclination towards the ground. Everything here happens on a level that prevents the human being from standing up. In this underground shelter, in this secluded, secret place, a few people get together and learn to crawl.

There will be stones, rocks, inukshuk to be built and, should the sky fall, many different ways and techniques to keep acting as a human being.

The creative process will start outdoor, around boulders and screes, in the center of stone circles; we will capture sounds on rocky plateaux, and go underground, in caves, searching for moves. Sky, rocks, winds, mysteries: it is filled with the vastness of things that, once in the studio, we will stoop.
