Lenio Kaklea – Αγρίμι (fauve) / working title (2023)

Lenio Kaklea is working on her latest production "Αγρίμι (fauve) / working title (2023)" and is receiving a co-production support for the development period between June and November 2022 by danceWEB / the LLB project.

“In 2019, I met and conducted interviews with two hunters. Meeting them started haunting me. Hunting requires attention to the sound environment and coordinated movement of bodies in physical space. It is an activity that involves eroticism as it produces, as they say, a "violent pleasure". Hunters have vivid dreams before an excursion and for their rituals, they cover themselves with blood. Their stories reminded me of my experience of dance, an art that exposes the body and leads the audience into a sometimes-ambiguous erotic observation. In 2023, I intend to create a trio that explores silent and imposing environments, bodies of human and animal, hunter, and prey. The choreography will vary in intensity, rhythm, and spatial directions. Cameras will project the action from different distances, and moving sculptures will create on-stage dream spaces, both familiar and strange.”
