Dance Hub residency Anna Pehrsson at NDA Slovenia

In the frame of the Dance Hub exchange activity, NDA Slovenia is welcoming the Swedish artist Anna Pehrsson for a resideny in Ljubljana, selected by MDT Stockholm.

Anna Pehrsson was invited and came to Ljubljana, Slovenia to follow and experience CoFestival 2021 which took place at the end November and beginning of December. MDT Stockholm assisted in finding and choosing the artist that would be invited.

Anna Pehrsson is a Swedish dancer and choreographer working in the intersection of dance, choreography and visual arts. She danced with Alias Compagnie, Corpus DKT, and Cullberg Ballet, and has since the choreographic debut in 2016, created a wide-range of works including commissions - solo -, and group pieces - outdoors, for the gallery space, as well as for the stage. Pehrsson is an associate artist of Weld W2, Stockholm and MARC, Knislinge. Her pieces are shown at Bonniers Artgallery, Tjörnedala Artgallery, Uppsala Artmuseum, Weld, The House of Dance, and MDT amongst others.

Pehrsson’s artistic endeavour is characterised by a thorough research into the prerequisites of movement and the dancing body, often supported by drawing and/or printing practices. Her work, seeking to contribute to a feministic ecology - a female gaze in accordance with its environment, is described as innovative, articulated and consequent.

Pehrsson accompanied the workshops which included a public presentation at the end, conceptualized and lead by Yasen Vasilev and entitled Impossible Actions (Impossible Actions were nominated for the best practice in Bulgarian contemporary dance). She gave artistic and dramaturgical support to mr. Vasilev throughout the workshops. She attended and participated in the conference on Movement Research, as well as performances and other festival activities and events.

Anna Pehrsson created an immediate impression to the CoFestival team as an attentive and deeply observat artist that contributes warmth and imagination to just about any situation she finds herself in. It is also Yasen Vasilev that said he has found a new and completely unexpected artistic stability in his work by her presence and cooperation.
