BamBam Frost – YES

BamBam Frost – YES

Inspired by the thought of making the revolution irresistible and the work and journey to social justice as pleasurable as possible*, BamBam Frost explores the pleasures found in social dances and pop cultural expressions. And the desire to be in, produce and allow constant change. It’s a dive into what has been and what is – letting choreographic practices of pleasure guide us in the work of radically imagining where we want to be.

*thoughts articulated by authors Toni Cade Bambara and adrienne maree brown.

YES is a cascade of pleasure, sadness and dreams of possibilities. Morphing through a constant of what has been and what is. YES insists on fiction as a compass in the imagining of where we want to be. Working with water’s transformative powers and the storm’s revolutionary potential. Yes yes yes. This could be something. YES is soft, YES is dense, YES is tension and release, YES is too much and not enough. YES is everything you touch you change.

YES is almost a solo, we call it a solo with a star guest.

BamBam Frost
is a dancer and choreographer based in Stockholm, Sweden. She graduated from Stockholm University of the Arts, with a bachelor of contemporary dance spring 2013. In her work she has moved between the club scene, commercial work, music videos and art institutions. During the spring 2018 she debuted with the piece SORRY.

BamBams work is in constant transformation and dialog with the now. There is a strong interest for social dances and pop cultural expressions. She plays with the thought of these as carriers of time, structures and context with which she through choreography can change the narratives of.  Inspired by sci-fi BamBam uses choreography as a tool to imagine and propose alternatives.
