PREMIERE Co-production "UNISON" by Cecilia Lisa Eliceche (BE/IT/AR)

PREMIERE Co-production "UNISON" by Cecilia Lisa Eliceche (BE/IT/AR)

"The materiality of the body is not to be taken for granted, for in some sense it is acquired, constituted, through the development of morphology. The real is that which resist and compels symbolisation"
-Judith Butler, Bodies That Matter

"Why should our bodies end at the skin? "
-Donna Haraway, A Manifesto for Cyborgs

"Man did not weave the web of life; he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself"
-Vandana Shiva, Staying Alive

Unison:

1) Doing the same thing at the same time
2) a process in which all elements behave in the same way at the same time; simultaneous or synchronous parallel action

In dance history I found unison has been the primary formation for group choreography.  We are reviewing this choreographic form as well as community and togetherness from a feminist lens. The work is a unison of form, unison of intention, unison of action, unison of existence for  4 dancers. We embrace feminine principles by trying to resists identification, fixation, consensus and closure while enhancing heterogeneity, difference, disagreement, expansion of logics and curiosity. Considering ourselves as an interconnected sum of elements forming a living organism that is knit and bound with itself and the world.

We are working from concrete movements continuously destabilising space, in a state of mind that  never assumes and is always in the search. We are working from extreme formality to seeming chaos, from the general to the specific, inexhaustibly weaving with our bodies and our dance. Crafting choreography, movement and dance with detail and dedication.
