PREMIERE Co-production "transformers #1 (mom & me)" aka "five hundred thousand years of movement” by Karin Pauer
transformers #1 (mom & me)
Karin Pauer presents her first event in a performance series called transformers.
transformers #1 is both, a solo and a duet of the performer and her mom.
Investigating evolution, change and transformation she is creating a sculputural and organic field of exploration.
Using mixed material objects, she creates a utopian landscape which is both environment and tool for body-alterations.
It is the starting point for a collective imaginative experiment which appeals to the flexibility of the mind and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances and surroundings.
transformers is a constant investigation of the ‚next form’.
It is a practice of change and a disappointing but hopeful attempt at becoming the person/ being one was always meant to be.
With the part mom& me she is collaborating with her mother to create a work which examines the changes we go through within our lifetime.
Using comparative strategies and self-irony the mother - daughter duet is offering a more zoomed-in perspective on the topic.
succession/ reverse anthromorphism/ nextness/ a hole in the world in the shape of me/ the only constant is change/ five hundred thousand years of movement/ better version of myself/ feeling eternal/ you are my future/ you are my past/ turning into your own mother/ will my old hair be as pretty as yours?
