PREMIERE Co-production “As we were moving ahead occasionally we saw brief glimpses of beauty” by Gaëtan Rusquet

“As we were moving ahead occasionally we saw brief glimpses of beauty” is a performance project. 3 or 4 performers on an open stage create an immersive situation for its audience. Sound, video, light, body and the space interact in an autonomous system.
Gaëtan makes use of different technical devices to frame the action and submits the performers' bodies to that action. When immersed in this performance, we will question the limits between inside/outside, intimacy/extimacy by hijacking technologies or disciplines that entered in our daily life as tools to stage oneself: webcams, smartphones, gopro, selfies.
We have developed a relationship between body and image that involves the use of a camera at arm's length.
As a mantra, Gaëtan works on the notions of loop, cycle, and repetition across inside and outside - both through body and performance space - by questioning the different materials, surfaces, limits and ways of passage.
What does it means to swallow or to be swallowed by a person, a community, a system, a technology? What does it mean to be part of a system, an amnesiac? How do we move towards the hyper-immediate? What does it mean to repeat the same story in infinity of variations?
