Life Long Burning WILD CARDS is part of the European project Life Long Burning, developed and organized by a network of twelve partner institutions (4Culture/RO, CCN Montpellier/FR, Cullberg Ballet/SE, danceWEB/AT, Het Veem Theater/NL, Lokomotiva/MK, Station/RS, Tala Dance Center/HR, Uferstudios/DE, Ultima Vez/BE, Workshop Foundation/HU, workspacebrussels/BE).

The program aims at fostering the transnational circulation of artistic development and the further education in the field of contemporary dance and choreographic research. It consists of residencies, choreographic researches with established companies as well as scholarships for further education for emerging choreographers and professional dancers.

In the frame of the Life Long Burning Wild Cards 2014/2015, danceWEB is looking for artists interested in the ex.e.r.ce master program 2015

When: 23 March - 10 April, 2015

Where: CCN de Montpellier Languedoc Roussillon, France

What: The participation includes the following:

+ 2 weeks workshop with Loïc Touzé and Mathieu Bouvier
This workshop is organized as part of a broader "Exhibiting the research" theme. In this context, the artists have the particularity to integrate, in one way or another, writings in their artistic work.

Loïc Touzé and Mathieu Bouvier have developed this last 5 years a research on the “figure”. They will share tools, processes, disposals invented and stimulated by a practice that is underlined by a philosophical, anthropological, historical approach of the concept of “Image”.

The Wild Card participant will be integrated into the group of the ex.e.rce master students and follow all teachings (23. March - 03 April, 2015)

+ The CCN offers the Wild Card participant a 2 weeks (04  - 17 April, 2015) studio in the CCN to develop his/her personal work (the studio is available full time from 06 - 10.04. and part time on the remaining days)

CV Loïc Touzé 

Loïc Touzé has been choreographer since 1991 and now based in Nantes (FR) since 2010. He created amongst other pieces Morceau, Love, La Chance, Ô MONTAGNE and collaborates regularly with visual artist Jocelyn Cottencin and light designer Yannick Fouassier. From 2001 to 2006, he co-directed Les Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers an experimental space dedicated to new forms and contemporary writings.

He also takes part in other projects such as : Around the table realized collectively by ORO, kom.post and Çati associations, GOMME with hip hop dancer Yasmin Rahmani, but also with XY a collective of acrobats for their new creation in 2014.

Since 2010 he has investigated a research with Mathieu Bouvier, visual artist and dramaturg exploring the topic of the figure in dance. He teaches regularly in France and abroad towards professional trainings in visual art, choreography and theatre. His next creation 19 mélodies will premiere in February 2015.


CV Mathieu Bouvier 

Mathieu Bouvier (born 1973) is a visual artist, filmmaker, photographer, set designer and independent researcher. He is a graduate of the fine art shools of Saint-Etienne and Lyon (France), and Le Fresnoy, National Studio for Contemporary Art inTourcoing (France). He makes short videos in which the image is a product of language, wether it is spoken, written or crossed out : http://vimeo.com/channels/mathieubouvier. Some of his works are exhibited in art centers. He regularly participates to dance projects as a videographer, set designer and artistic collaborator. In collaboration with the french choreographer Loïc Touzé, he is currently conducting a program of artistic workshops and a research project called «For an atlas of figures».
